Hello everybody@Year 6! We're back at work with lots of interesting things to learn about this year. We're going to start learning a bit more about adjectives and comparing. Use these two websites to find out more. I hope you find them useful. If you have any questions, please ask me in class.

The Middle Ages Pasapalabra

Just like on the TV quiz, you are going to have to answer some questions with one or two words starting with or containing each one of the letters of the alphabet (that is not actually true, because I couldn't find any word containing letter "Z"). The Middle Ages

The Middle Ages started in 476 when the Roman Empire ended. The Visigoths conquered Spain at the start of the 6^th century. Muslim armies invaded Spain in 711 and defeated the Visigoths. When they took over, they called the region they controlled Al-Andalus.

The Muslim people of Al-Andalus lived in towns and cities. Most Islamic cities had at least one fort, market, medina, mosque, public bath, and palace. Have you been to the mosque in Cordoba or to the Alhambra Palace in Granada?

I've found this cool game to learn animal names. It is good fun. You have to look at the picture and guess the animal, but you have to be quick! The quicker you are the more points you get. On the same website, you can find many other games you might find interesting.

"La Motxilla"- actividades de inglés

Para empezar me gustaría comentar una página que recopila una impresionante cantidad de páginas que ofrecen actividades y juegos para aprender y practicar inglés. La Motxilla-idiomas forma parte de la página del colegio Diputacio y está muy bien diseñada y estructurada.
La página de inglés cuenta con una pantalla inicial que muestra las diferentes secciones, tan solo hace falta pinchar en cada una de ellas.

En la sección de Actividades hay un poco de todo, animales, colores, deportes, trabajos, etc. Cubre los aspectos básicos en cuanto a vocabulario, y además lo hace a través de juegos, con animaciones y sonido. A ver qué os parecen.

También hay una sección de Canciones (songs), ideales para practicar el ritmo y la entonación de la lengua inglesa. Además, a los más pequeños les encantan.

Hay una sección de Historias, con una gran selección y distintos niveles, que se apoyan en ilustraciones para ayudar al lector a entender el cuento o la historia. Muchos de ellos vienen con sonido o son leídos en voz alta.  Hay para diferentes niveles.

Por último, aunque la página da para mucho más, hay una sección para aquell@s a l@s que les gusta la Ciencia (Science). Con los diferentes enlaces podréis aprender contenidos y mejorar vuestro nivel de inglés.

Presentación - Introduction

Hola a todas y a todos. Este es el enésimo blog de inglés del colegio El Chaparral. Con este lo que intento es dar respuesta a las peticiones de las familias del alumnado con el que trabajo, que en ocasiones se encuentran con dificultades a la hora de ayudar a sus hijas e hijos en el trabajo y el refuerzo del idioma. Internet es una gran herramienta a la hora de aprender un idioma, y en este blog pretendo recoger enlaces a otras páginas a traves de las cuales podáis ayudarles a aprender inglés. En algunos casos las actividades son sencillas y no necesitan de ayuda extra, pero en otros casos sí que van a necesitar vuestra ayuda, puesto que requerirán de un nivel más alto de manejo del idioma. En la columna de la derecha podréis encontrar una serie de enlaces brevemente comentados y clasificados en tres niveles: Basic stuff - temas básicos; Not so basic - actividades que implican lectura; y I can read - actividades para un nivel más avanzado o para aquell@s que ya hablen inglés. Espero que el blog os sea útil y que podáis divertiros aprendiendo inglés.
